DePortola Vineyard has 4,061 Viognier vines on 5 vineyard acres. The 2009 Viognier was harvested on Thursday, September 3, 2009. Monte De Oro's yield was 22.6 tons or 4.5 tons per acre. The Viognier was fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged for 8 months and bottled on April 29, 2010.

 

Monte De Oro's 2009 Viognier is 100% estate grown. A slow, cool fermentation following grape crush produced delicate aromas on the nose leading to a wine exploding with peach, apricot, grapefruit and honeysuckle flavors with a rich but crisp mouthfeel and a refreshing, long finish.

Monte De Oro - 2008 Chardonnay

 

2008 Chardonnay

Galway Vineyard has 4,407 Chardonnay vines on 5.47 vineyard acres. The 2008 Chardonnay was harvested on Sunday, August 17, 2008 and Monte De Oro's yield was 13.8 tons or 2.52 tons per acre. The Chardonnay was 100% barrel fermented in French Oak barrels and bottled in early September 2009.

 

This wine is 100% Chardonnay and is a beautiful golden wine that offers aromas and flavors crisp green apples, pears and hints of vanilla and spice with a soft and luscious finish.

2009 Pinot Gris

Galway Vineyard has 3,500 Pinot Gris vines on 4.35 vineyard acres. The 2009 Pinot Gris was harvested early morning, Saturday, August 10, 2009. Monte De Oro's yield was 12.5 tons, or 2.8 tons per acre. The Pinot Gris was fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged for 10 month and bottled on June 7, 2010.

 

Monte De Oro's 2009 Pinot Gris is 100% estate grown and can be characterized as light and crisp with hints of pear, grapefruit and green apple with a lingering, refreshing finish.

2009 Sauvignon Blanc

Galway Vineyard has 2,760 Sauvignon Blanc vines on 3.43 vineyard acres. The 2009 Sauvignon Blanc was harvested on Thursday, August 29, 2009. Monte De Oro's yield was 10.7 tons or 3.1 tons per acre. The Sauvignon Blanc was fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged for 9 months and bottled on May 20, 2010.

 

Monte De Oro's 2009 Sauvignon Blanc is 100% estate grown and is a crisp, tropical, floral wine with a light and refreshing taste of green apples, pineapple and fresh lime with hints of kiwi producing an enjoyable medium finish.
